Commentary on Jeremiah 11:14

Theological / Devotional

Pray not thou. This suggests that in his love for his people Jeremiah had earnestly interceded for them (see on ch. 7:16). Their continued iniquity made this intercession fruitless. They had shown no spirit of repentance, and their cry was nothing more than the expression of their desire to escape chastisement (see on v. 11).
