Theological / Devotional

Vengeance. Jeremiah appeals to God for justice. Some have felt that his language is somewhat vindictive, but this is not necessarily the case. Jeremiah was conscious of the fact that he was doing the work of the Lord. Any interference with his work was therefore an attack against God (see Vol. ID, p. 624).
