Theological / Devotional

Will a man leave? The clause may be translated, “Will the snow of Lebanon leave the rock of the field?” The thought conveyed is that the Lord’s strength, in which His people should have trusted, is like the unfailing snow of Lebanon.

Be forsaken. Literally, “be plucked up,” that is, be dried up. The streams of much-desired cold water that flowed from distant or foreign heights were never dried up.
