Theological / Devotional

A plentiful country. Literally, “the land of the orchard,” that is, “a land planted with vines and fruit trees,” a contrast to the “land of deserts” through which Israel had passed on the way to Canaan.

Ye. The change from third to second person makes the application of the message more personal.

My land. See Lev. 25:23; Deut. 11:12; cf. Lev. 18:25, 27, 28; Num. 35:34.
