Theological / Devotional

I will build thee. Under God’s blessing the returned exiles did restore Jerusalem and its Temple. They re-established, in some measure at least, their religious, social, and political life. However, the full measure of prosperity predicted in ch. 31 was never realized because the people turned again and again from their glorious destiny (see PK 705; pp. 30-32).
