Theological / Devotional

Behold his eyes. This is significant in view of Ezekiel’s prophecy (see on Eze. 12:13). Nebuchadnezzar put “out Zedekiah’s eyes” (see Jer. 39:7), and so the Babylonian conqueror’s face, which struck terror because of its wrath, was one of the last objects the king of Judah was to see on earth (see Jer. 52:10, 11; cf. 2 Kings 25:6, 7).
