Commentary on Jeremiah 4:27

Theological / Devotional

A full end. Though the destruction described would be terrible, it would not be the final annihilation. The prophet predicted a return of Israel and Judah to their land (see on ch. 3:14-18). Likewise, the earth reduced to its millennial desolation will blossom again (see 2 Peter 3:12, 13).
