Theological / Devotional

Kerioth. This place has not been identified. It is mentioned on the Moabite Stone as the town to which Mesha brought Orel, the Israelite commander of Ataroth, “dragging him before Kemosh in Kerioth” (see Additional Note on 2 Kings 3).

Bozrah. Probably the town of Beser mentioned as rebuilt by Mesha (see Additional Note on 2 Kings 3). The location is unknown. The city is to be distinguished from the Bozrah of Isa. 63:1 and Jer. 49:13, which was in Edom.
