Theological / Devotional

Red sea. The Hebrew here is dramatic, reading literally, “A cry — at the Red Sea is heard its noise.” The southern boundary of Edom, at its greatest prosperity, extended to the Gulf of Aqabah, the northeast tip of the Red Sea (see 1 Kings 9:26). The cry of anguish reaches to the farthest extent of the ravaged country.
