Theological / Devotional

Habitation of justice. Or, “habitation of righteousness.” This is a rich and striking expression as used here of Jehovah. The term “habitation,” Heb. naweh, continues the pastoral theme of v. 6. Naweh is elsewhere used of an abiding place of shepherds (ch. 33:12) and of their flocks (chs. 23:3; 49:20). God is declared to be not only the true abode of lost Israel but also the source of righteousness.
