Theological / Devotional

Render. The fact that the depredations of the Babylonians had been used by God to punish evil and to bring His people to repentance in no way lessened the responsibility of the Babylonians for their wicked deeds (see AA 581). Every man is held responsible for his own evil choices. Though God may overrule an evil deed for a beneficial end (Ps. 76:10), this in no way makes Him responsible for the sin. God often makes the devices of the enemy serve purposes of mercy (see DA 471).

In your sight. This verse is addressed to the Jews.
