I have likened. From the Heb. damah, which may also be translated “to silence,” sometimes in the sense of “to destroy” (see Hosea 4:5, where the word for “destroy” is damah). Some favor the translation “destroy” here, making the passage read, “I will destroy the comely and delicate one, the daughter of Zion.”
