Theological / Devotional

Thy mouth. The sentence may also be translated, “thy iniquity teaches thy mouth.” Either rendering is grammatically defensible. The latter expresses the idea that Job’s words are prompted by his sins.

Crafty. The word thus translated is from the same root as the one rendered “subtil” in Gen. 3:1.
