Blind. In the days prior to modern medical science, the blind were numerous. Often they eked out an existence by begging. Job did not forget these outcasts. The figure indicates that his gifts were more than a pittance. Apparently he went as far as possible in supplying their lack. Such charity would justify him in saying that he was “eyes” to the blind and “feet” to the lame.
