He ... her. These two pronouns seem to refer to “the orphan” and “the widow.” The idea is that Job had always been a father to orphans and a guide to widows.

My mother’s womb. A hyperbolic expression, indicating that Job does not remember when he did not give attention to the needs of the helpless.
