Theological / Devotional

Gird yourselves. That is, with sackcloth, normally a symbol of mourning (see v. 8), here of penitence, which Israel should display (see 1 Kings 21:27).

Ministers. From the Heb. sharath, “to serve.” The word is here used synonymously with “priests.”
