Theological / DevotionalNot of my sheep. Faith and obedience are the earmarks of the followers of the True Shepherd. The unbelief of the Jews was not the result of their not belonging to Christ’s fold, but it was evidence that they were not His sheep.
As I said unto you. Textual evidence favors the omission (cf. p. 146) of this clause. No essential point is involved. Whether stated or not, Jesus was referring to the discussion of the good shepherd in vs. 1-18.
