Theological / Devotional

Rise again. Though the Sadducees denied the resurrection (see on Matt. 22:23), the Pharisees, the more numerous of the two parties, boldly confessed their belief in the resurrection and the future life (see Acts 23:8). Doubtless many belonging to this persuasion had sought to comfort Martha with the words used by Jesus on this occasion.
