Knew not. Perhaps her eyes were “holden” as were those of the disciples on the way to Emmaus (Luke 24:16). Or perhaps her eyes were simply too tear filled for her to see clearly.

It was Jesus. This is the first postresurrection appearance (Mark 16:9).
