Theological / DevotionalSeen and heard. That is, what Christ has seen and heard of the character and will of the Father (see on vs. 11-13). John ever reminds his readers that the witness of Jesus concerning heavenly things originated with the Father (see chs. 8:40; 15:15; etc.).
No man receiveth. A rhetorical hyperbole emphasizing how few of the throng that followed Jesus really accepted Him as the Sent of God (cf. chs. 1:11; 2:24). That some men did, in fact, receive and believe the testimony of Jesus is apparent from ch. 3:33 (cf. ch. 1:11,12).
