Theological / DevotionalYour law. This expression occurs again in ch. 10:34; and the comparable expression “their law,” in ch. 15:25. These passages are not to be construed to mean that Jesus dissociated Himself from, or was antagonistic to, the law. He had not come to destroy the law or the prophets (Matt. 5:17). He Himself had delivered the sacred precepts to Moses. By “your law” Jesus meant either the law they claimed to expound, defend, and keep, or their traditional interpretation of it (see on Mark 7:5-13).
