Theological / DevotionalThey brought. Literally, “they are bringing.” John relates the narrative with dramatic vividness. The reason why the people brought the healed man to the Pharisees is not stated. Perhaps the fact that the healing was a breach of the traditional Sabbath laws (see on v. 6) led them to the conclusion that the case required the attention of the Pharisees.
