Are we blind also? The Greek construction anticipates a negative answer. The emphasis is upon the “we.” Surely we, the religious leaders, are not blind! This was not a humble, anxious inquiry. The Pharisees doubtless saw the implication of the Lord’s statement, and their words were uttered in scorn.
