Taanach. Several towns connected with the northern league, not previously mentioned, are next listed. Among them are two frequently named together, Taanach and Megiddo. Megiddo is in the great plain of Jezreel, whereas Taanach is only a short distance to the southeast, on the border of the plain. The site of Megiddo is now called Tell el-Mutesellim. Its strategic location gave it historic importance. Taanach is now called Tell Ta‘annak.
