Theological / Devotional

King of Jericho. Here and in the following verses the vanquished kings are enumerated, generally in the order in which they were conquered. There are 31 of them, which, together with the 2 on the east side of the Jordan, make a total list of 33. A large proportion of these kings have already been mentioned in previous chapters. The most important of the new names are Geder, Hormah, Arad, and Adullam, all belonging to the southern league.
