Theological / Devotional

Chisloth-tabor. Literally, “the flanks of Tabor.” Now believed to be Iksal, a rocky height to the west of the base of Tabor, which is one of the most conspicuous mountains of Palestine. Some have supposed Tabor to have been the later mount of transfiguration.

Japhia. Believed to be the same as Yafa. It lies about 13 3/4 mi. (22.8 km.) southwest of Nazareth.
