Theological / Devotional

If thou wilt offer a burnt offering. The Angel refused the offer of food, but suggested that Manoah might offer the kid as a burnt offering to the Lord. It is unlikely that Manoah was contemplating offering a sacrifice to the Messenger, for the record states clearly that he did not know that it was an Angel of the Lord. Yet the angels who visited Abraham and Lot partook of earthly food (Gen. 18:8 ; 19:3).
