Theological / Devotional

Retained him. The girl’s father strongly urged the Levite to stay longer than the Levite wished. The exaggerated hospitality of the father-in-law was designed, no doubt, to make a good impression on the Levite. Clearly he did not want the couple to quarrel again. He was doing his best to cement their relationship.
