Theological / Devotional

Smote all the city. The 10,000 men who had formed the ambush (v. 34) succeeded in capturing Gibeah and then set it on fire. This they did as a signal to their comrades that the ambush had succeeded, and that it was now time for them to turn from their feigned flight and engage the main force of the pursuing Benjamites.
