Commentary on Lamentations 3:51

Theological / Devotional

Affecteth mine heart. This may be understood: (1) that the physical discomfort caused the eyes by continual weeping aggravates the already distraught emotions of the poet; or (2) that the sights he beholds with his eyes bring grief to his heart. The latter fits in better with the spirit of the book.
