Theological / Devotional

Be cut off. The Day of Atonement was also a day of judgment, for whoever did not “afflict” his “soul” that day was “cut off” (see on Gen. 17:14; Ex. 12:15). Moreover, if a man worked on that day God would destroy him. For a more complete discussion of the observance of the day, see on Lev. 16.
