Restitution must accompany confession on the day of the trespass offering. It may not be delayed.
Restitution is vital for freedom from sin’s guilt. Conviction, sorrow, and confession are steps but insufficient without restitution.
Trespasses include questionable business, fraud, crookedness, exploitation, exorbitant charges, and dishonest work.
Where restitution is impossible, giving to the Lord’s work is advised (Numbers 5:8).
Bankruptcy may clear legal obligations, but Christians must consider moral responsibility and act honestly.
Lying is widespread and increasingly accepted socially and politically, but is a negation of truth and destructive.
God is the God of truth; His Son, Spirit, Word, law, works, counsels, judgment, city, and church embody truth.
Christians must love truth, be sanctified by it, and bear witness in love.
Truthfulness must characterize all relations; hypocrisy and pretension are rejected.
