Theological / Devotional

The bullock sin offering was for Aaron, his sons, and the altar, which had an important role in reconciliation and required anointing and purification.

Moses acted as priest, applying blood to the altar’s horns, pouring out the rest, burning fat, and burning the bullock’s body outside the camp. Aaron had not yet begun work; Moses functioned as priest and high priest. He went into the most holy to anoint the ark (Exodus 30:26; Leviticus 8:10).
