Theological / DevotionalAaron was clothed with holy garments, his insignia of office, also symbolic. He was not permitted to clothe himself, emphasizing his insufficiency and dependence on God.
Aaron was fully clothed with the blue robe, bells, pomegranates, ephod with onyx stones engraved with Israel’s names, breastplate with twelve stones and Urim and Thummim, and miter with “Holiness to the Lord.”
