Theological / DevotionalI have a baptism. Clearly not Jesus’ baptism at the hands of John, now more than three years in the past, but rather the “baptism” of His death (see on Matthew 3:11). The word “baptize,” when used figuratively, as here, means to be “immersed” in circumstances which bring one face to face with death, as one would be if immersed in water for any considerable length of time.
