Theological / Devotional

As the lightning. See on Matt. 24:27. Like a flash of lightning, the return of Jesus would come suddenly and unexpectedly (see 1 Thess. 5:1-5), but visibly and dramatically.

In his day. Textual evidence is divided (cf. p. 146) between retaining and omitting this phrase.
