Theological / Devotional

They did eat. Literally, “they were eating.” While the antediluvians carried on their normal round of activities, the Flood came and surprised them. They were not expecting so abrupt a change. They were engrossed in their worldly pursuits and pleasures, lulled to sleep by a false sense of security. They were not sufficiently concerned with what was coming (see on Gen. 6:5-13; cf. 2 Peter 2:5).
