Theological / Devotional

Ascending. That is, from Jericho in the Jordan valley (see on v. 11). In about 15 mi. (24 km.) they climbed 3,300 ft. (1,500 m.) (see on ch. 10:30). The quick transition of Luke’s record here seems to allow but a little time interval between the incidents in Jericho (vs. 1-28) and the Triumphal Entry (vs. 29-44).
