Theological / DevotionalMurmured. Gr. diagogguzzo, an emphatic form of gogguzzo, also translated “murmured” (see on Matt. 20:11; Luke 5:30). There were no doubt also in the throng many citizens of Jericho who had virtually been robbed by Zacchaeus or by his agents, and consequently considered him a thief.
