Theological / Devotional

Jesus himself drew near. The two disciples had not gone far toward Emmaus (see DA 795) when Jesus overtook them. He was thus with them for most of the journey, which probably occupied about two hours. They doubtless took Jesus to be another pilgrim who, like themselves, had been in Jerusalem for the Passover.
