Theological / Devotional

Let down. Gr. chalao, a term used to describe the lowering of cargo or boats. In Acts 27:17 it is used of striking the sails, and in v. 30 of lowering the lifeboats. It is also used of Paul when he was “let down” from the wall of Damascus in a basket (Acts 9:25; 2 Cor. 11:33).

A draught. That is, “a catch.”
