Theological / Devotional

Hath sent us. The two messengers were probably unaware of the fact that they had been sent primarily for their own benefit (see on v. 19). John probably desired also to prepare them for the transfer of their affections and service to Jesus. No doubt these two men were among the disciples of Jesus who, some six months later, cast their lot with Christ (see DA 361).
