He entered again. [The Man With a Withered Hand, Mark 3:1-6 = Matt. 12:9-14 = Luke 6:6-11. Major comment: Mark and Luke. See Early Galilean Ministry; on miracles pp. 208-213.] This was apparently not the same Sabbath as that mentioned in ch. 2:23. It is mentioned here as another instance in which the scribes and Pharisees took exception to the attitude of Jesus toward the Sabbath.

Had a withered hand. Or, “having his hand withered.” The Greek indicates that the withering of the hand was due to accident or to the results of disease rather than to a congenital defect.
