Straitly. That is, “strongly,” “intensely,” or “strictly.”

That. Rather, “in order that.”

Not make him known. At this point in the narrative Matthew records in addition a quotation from the OT, prophetic of the ministry of Jesus to the needs of humanity (see on Matt. 12:20).
