Theological / Devotional

Kingdom of God. That is, in this instance, the privilege of being God’s chosen people. In the future God’s plan to save the world would no longer be dependent on the Jewish nation, as a building was on its cornerstone. For Israel’s part in God’s plan see Vol. IV, pp. 26-33.

Given to a nation. That is, to the Christian church (see 1 Peter 2:9, 10).
