Theological / Devotional

Many false prophets. Compare v. 4. History records that numerous false prophets appeared in the years immediately preceding the fall of Jerusalem to the Romans. For false prophets of the last days see on vs. 24-27; cf. DA 628, 631. For an earlier warning against false prophets see on ch. 7:15-20. In ch. 24:24-26 Christ speaks specifically of the work of false prophets prior to His second coming.
