Theological / Devotional

Sue thee at the law. To be taken to court. Trial not begun; legal action contemplated.

Coat. Greek chiton, shirtlike undergarment worn next to body.

Let him have. Christians meekly submit to wrong.

Cloke. Greek himation, outer garment or mantle, used as night covering. Poor sometimes had only the mantle as loan security. Moses’ law prohibited retaining it overnight (Ex. 22:26,27). The cloak was more essential than the coat; yielding it shows greater concession.
