Theological / Devotional

She which travaileth. Some commentators find in this verse a reference to the suffering and affliction that Israel would undergo until their deliverance from captivity.

In other words, that God would “give them up” until that time. Others see a reference to the birth of the Messiah (see Isaiah 7:14).
