Theological / Devotional

His worthies. Literally, “his mighty ones.” Evidently the Assyrian king charges his army leaders to defend the city walls. In confused haste, or perhaps in a partially sober condition, they “stumble in their walk.”

Defence. Heb. sokek, meaning “a barricade.”
