Commentary on Nehemiah 11:6

Theological / Devotional

Valiant men. Judah furnished 468 men capable of bearing arms, about half as many as Benjamin, which provided 928 men (v. 8). The cities of Judah lying south of Jerusalem may not have felt the necessity of keeping the capital strong, as did the Benjamites who dwelt in the real danger zone, the border of Samaria.
